This is the new piece that I just finished (as of August 7th, 2001.) I have a tendency around June of every year to look at all the art I've done in the past year, decide it's not enough or not good enough to show at the WorldCon artshow in the fall, and then madly rush to finish just one more painting in time for the show. It inevitably stresses me out in July and August (not to mention my printers down in L.A.!) but it sometimes ends up being the best piece of the year. Afternoon of a Faun was one such piece. As for this one... well, technically it's the only painting I've done in this calender year, but to look at the entire past year... I don't know, would you consider this or One Foot and the Grave better?
