Zachary with Grandma Bibi (Mike's mother) who came out to visit in early June:
At a picnic on Father's Day:
We went to Tilden Park to ride the miniature steam trains they have there:
And it's summertime here! We got ourselves a kiddie pool today and had fun splashing around in the backyard:
Also on Father's Day weekend: Mike's gallery show opening at The Light Room in Berkeley:
Scott tries to keep Zachary from raiding the wine bar.
Me with college friends Tito and Jana:
Talia and I in front of my anniversary present to her.
Flowers for the show from Bubbie and Zaide:
Sorry for the digression from purely Zachary-related photos! July 2009. Last month was time with Mike's family, so this month is Time with Talia's. For Independance Day, we went down to L.A. to celebrate Bubbie's birthday on the 4th. Here are Mommy and Zach at the airport:
Down in L.A. we spent time with Judi and Lois:
...and Nana and Uncle Jeremy (here, Zach has a toy camera and is taking a photo of me taking a photo of him)
Bubbie (and Zaide) gave Zach some flip-flops...
...and some new shorts
Lois and Judi got a used police-car toy from some neighbors, and Zach absolutely loved it.
We hung out with Jeremy by the pool...
And got some reading in.
And of course spent lots of time with Bubbie and Zaide!
Time to say bye-bye!
And back at home, Zachary and his friend Max prepare themselves for either an expedition or a silly hat pageant, I can't quite tell which.
August 2009. Zachary is 2 and a half
...and Zachary using his foot as a phone. (Don't you wish you were that limber?)
Here are a few photos Debbie Grossman took when she was out visiting this past week:
And some videos: This one was after my gallery show, when we were unpacking the art that came back. Here are some from our July trip to L.A. Zach and mommy singing 'Row, Row, Row Your Boat' at Bubbie and Zaide's house. Zach playing peek-a-boo with Gramps in front of Lois and Judi's house August 2009. We took a trip up to Seattle to meet up with Mike's father Rodger - "Baba Raja" - and his wife Annie who were in from Boston. Breakfast, with whipped cream all around:
At the Seattle Childrens Museum:
They had lots of "vehicles" to drive, like this bus:
...and a firetruck!
We also visited the aquarium:
We also visited the excellent Elliot Bay Book Store:
Back at home, it's another playgroup. Kim reads to the boys:
Yesterday at the Farmers Market, Zach played in the fountain, wearing Mommy's hat for protection:
September 2009. Ivy and Rowan's 2nd Birthday party
Ivy enjoys a birthday cupcake
...while Zach enjoys a tricycle ride.
Dave and Will were there too:
Speaking of Will: At our house for playgroup, looking tough in sunglasses.
Also last weekend: A surprise trip to ride on the Niles Canyon Railway's steam trains.
We didn't tell Zach 'til we got there and changed him into his engineer overalls. He was very excited.
Here's Zach sitting in the engineer's compartment:
And in our seats on the train, back in steerage.
Gabe organized the trip as his boss was one of the conductors.
Marty and Molly and their daughter Eli were there too.
And Rick and Laura and their son Xander:
October 2009. The whole family went up to the Mendocino House for a weekend together in the end of September. Here is Zach on the porch:
In the guest room, there's fun to be had in the armoire: And wandering around the yard.
Eating breakfast with blackberries and huckleberries we picked in the yard:
Getting ready for bed:
At a playground in Fort Bragg:
Exploring the bluffs and beach in Mendocino:
Back at home... reading with Nana:
And with Shoshanna and Max:
And with Karen:
All done, time for sleep!
