Before we get into the Chanukkah pictures, let's start with an adventure in artistic expression in which Zachary got into mommy's desk drawer and decorated his cheeks with the markers therein: 
For the beginning of Chanukkah, we flew down to L.A. to spend some time with Aunt Lois (Marcia's sister) and their parents - Zachary's Great-grandparents - Bubbie and Zaide: 
Here, we were sitting around the table and Zach was naming each and every member of his family present: We visited the Noah's Ark exhibit at the Skirball Center: 
Zachary got to tromp about in his new raincoat and rain boots from Bubbie and Zaide: 
And Zachary opened up lots of presents for Chanukkah! A xylophone and a truck book - and trucks themselves! - from Lois and Judi: 
A book from Sid and Muriel: 
And a toy guitar from Nana and Gramps: 
Back at home, some dinosaurs from Baba Raja and Annie... 
And some shirts that Zach loved so much, he immediately started stripping down to put one on! 
He also loved the hat from Barbara and Lewis - and even insisted on wearing it as soon as he woke up this morning, and the drawing pad and puzzle. Zach lines the puzzle pieces to make "trains," and keeps insisting on playing with his camels: 
He enjoyed the Mr. Potato Head: 
Mom and Lou also sent some little vehicles - a schoolbus, fire engine, and police car. But to go with them - and all of the other vehicles - Mommy has been working on a play-mat for weeks and weeks - maybe even months! - sewing a little town with roads all by hand and even designing and constructing a bridge too!

He even got a cake, but you'll see he had something more important on his mind: He received a lot of other presents too, but we didn't get great pictures of all of them. Week ending February 8th, 2009. Zachary is 2 years old... again! Last week was the family-only birthday party, and this week was the one for the friends. Elinor, Zimena, and Zachary - all two! - had a big fun joint birthday party. Here are the best photos from it. (Parents, feel free to contact me if you want copies of the hi-res images here.)

Week ending March 1st, 2009. Zach is still two. We've been taking pictures, but haven't got a ton of stellar ones. Figured you'd like an update anyhow. We ordered sushi last week. Zach had a lot of fun with the chopsticks. Whenever he sees this photo, he says "Tomago!" (That's Japanese for baked egg sushi, which he loves.)
