My usual approach after finishing a sketch is to add a bunch of layers to work out light and shadows and details.
In this case, however, I just started painting, treating the entire thing as a speed-painting excercise.
So the details are sloppy but the overall light is really there, and it was nice to work on something a bit more immediate.
